We barely blinked when one of you were crazy enough to take part in the 48-hour plus Spartan Death Race in Pittsfield, Vt. Later this month.

But another? What is there something in the Mesa water?

We told you a few weeks ago about former Mesa resident Heidi Roylance’s “death wish” – and how if she was able to get her story published, she wouldn’t have to swim an extra 12 miles day before the June 15 race.

Now, we introduce Jeremy Hutter, 21, a veterinary technician who has lived in Mesa for 17 years. Jeremy doesn’t want to run an extra 12 miles either, apparently.

“My only goal is just to finish,” Hutter says.

The event’s website – www.youmaydie.com; we kid you not – says competitors will take on a 40-mile course in the woods. They may “chop wood, carry rocks, cut a bushel of onions, crawl under barbed wire” for hours on end.

Uh… you have fun out there Jeremy. We hope to see you back at home alive!
