South-central Mesa residents and their concerns about living in one of the city’s oldest sections will be in the TV spotlight tonight.

A town hall meeting begins at 7 p.m. today at Mesa Junior High School, 828 E. Broadway road. Portions of the meeting, sponsored by KPHO-TV (Channel 5), will be shown on the station’s 10 p.m. newscast.

The focus will be on districts 2 and 4, which cover downtown and areas to the south, much of the Main Street and Broadway Road corridors from Alma School to Greenfield roads, the Mesa Grand center at Stapley Drive and U.S. 60, and neighborhoods reaching as far north as Brown Road.

City Councilman Mike Whalen expects to hear debate about day laborers.

For information, call (480) 644-5294.
