Mesa Historic Preservation board recognizes four for outstanding acheivement

Four individuals received Outstanding Achievement Awards from the Mesa Historic Preservation Board at the June 2 Mesa City Council meeting.

Donne Benge and Walter Duering received awards for Individual Lifetime Achievement. Benge is a founding member of the Mesa Preservation Foundation and a charter member of the Southwest Archaeology Team, an affiliate of the Arizona Museum of Natural History (AzMNH). Duering is AzMNH’s Associate Curator of Anthropology and started working in Mesa in 1971.

Peter and Shelley Nickolich received awards for rehabilitation and restoration.
