A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug impairment and aggravated assault after the Mesa group home van he was driving Tuesday collided with a car, causing both vehicles to roll over and injuring four juveniles inside the van.
Darrell Antione Rochester, a counselor at the group home New Horizons at 1735 N. Val Vista Drive, had the passengers under his supervision at the time of the crash, police said. Two of the youths were hospitalized.
Police said Rochester was traveling eastbound on Huber and failed to stop at a stop sign before crashing into a Ford Taurus traveling south on 40th Street. Both vehicles rolled over.
Police said the woman who was driving the Taurus was not injured.
