Crescent Crown Distributing recently completed the building of an “eco-friendly” 335,000-square-foot facility, according to a release.
The building was designed to save the company – one of the largest distributors of alcoholic beverages – more than $150,000 in utility costs, SRP states in the release.
“Being able to save money on our electric bill while being more energy efficient and environmentally friendly was very important to us,” said James “Bubba” Moffett, president of Crescent Crown.
Some of the features in the facility include a temperature controlled warehouse, packaged HVAC system, R-30 (high level) wall and roof insulation and T5 fluorescents, LEDs and occupancy sensors in the warehouse.
Photovoltaic solar panels were also installed on the facility through the SRP Commercial Solar Incentive program. According to the release, the panels produce 940,000 kilowatt-hours a year — enough electricity to power about 50 homes for one year.
