Mesa has named a new deputy city manager. Kari Kent will move into the spot from her current job as Neighborhood Services director. She replaces Paul Wenbert, who retired March 1. Kent’s appointment will be recommended to the City Council at its meeting Monday.
Kent has worked with the city for 14 years, also as a solid waste management director and assistant director of development services.
As a deputy city manager, she’ll oversee issues such as code compliance and neighborhood outreach. Kent will continue as acting director of neighborhood services until a replacement is named.
