Mesa officials say Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is getting service from a third airline.

City officials have scheduled a Monday news conference to identify the third airline. It will join Allegiant and Spirit in serving Gateway, which has been developed on the site of the closed Williams Air Force Base in suburban Mesa.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the principal airport serving the metropolitan area.

It's always great to hear good economic news. Congrats to the airport folks. Here in Cincy, our regional airport is dying because of horrible management.

Since Frontier Airlines will announce service to six new cities tomorrow (Monday) I would bet non-stop to Denver is in Gateway's future.

It's about 6:50am and the Mesa to Denver route is already on Frontier's route map.
