Celtic music concert
The bagpipes and drums will be front and center for this distinctive show. The Mesa Caledonian Pipe Band will partner with The Arizona Academy of Highland Dance to stage a performance from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mesa Amphitheatre, 201 N. Center St.

The Southwest Shakespeare Company presents a twist on the classic tale of ambition and betrayal by setting it during the Civil War. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St.

Usery Mountain Regional Park, 3939 N. Usery Pass Road, will be hosting bird-watching events for all ages this week. Kids 7 to 12 are invited to a program on desert birds starting 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Birding expert Sandy Hornbaker will hold an informative lecture entitled "All About Birds," which will cover the survival techniques and adaptations of common birds in the area. Bring a lunch and prepare to learn at this presentation from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Finally, put your new skills to the test and pick up some new knowledge on a bird walk through the park at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The programs are free, but there is a $6 park entry fee per vehicle.

'The Unsinkable Molly Brown'
This musical comedy tells the tale of a young woman's struggles to rise up in society. The play will run from through Feb. 20 at the Broadway Palm Theatre, 5247 E. Brown Road.
