Customers and business owners on the western edge of the city will be asked whether they want free local bus service that would connect to major bus routes, the light-rail station at Sycamore and Main Street, and other key sites including Fiesta Mall, Mesa Community College and Banner Desert Medical Center.

Mesa and stakeholders in the Fiesta District near Fiesta Mall are conducting a survey to see if there's demand for a district circulator, similar to the Downtown Buzz, a circulator in downtown Mesa. Other examples includethe Orbit in Tempe and DASH in Phoenix.

Mesa doesn't have any money for the service yet, but the survey is an initial plan to gauge interest for future planning.

There are two surveys - one for customers and one for business owners. The surveys are being offered in English and in Spanish at the following links: mesaaz.gov/economic or mesaaz.gov/transportation.

A drawing for those who fill out a survey will also be held, with a prize of a two-night weekend stay for two courtesy of Courtyard Marriott in Mesa.
