Three armed men stole a car early Friday morning from a driver and passenger who had just parked the vehicle at 100 W. Ninth Place.

The victims told Mesa police they were confronted in the parking lot about 2:30 a.m. by the men who were driving a white Nissan Pathfinder.

Police said two of the assailants carried knives, which they pointed at the driver’s throat. The third assailant pointed a gun at the passenger.

Police described the men as Hispanic with two being average height with thin builds, weighing 160 to 180 pounds. The third was described as heavyset.

Detective Chris Arvayo said two of the men left the scene in the victims’ red Dodge Neon. The third left in the Pathfinder.
