School choir treks to desert from South Dakota

The Oak Grove Lutheran School Concert Choir from Fargo, N.D., will be present for a “sacred concert” at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 S. Ellsworth Road, Mesa, at 10 a.m. March 28.

Oak Grove Lutheran School’s Concert Choir, directed by Aaron Zinter, will began its annual tour today. This year’s program includes lively spirituals, old hymn favorites like “Beautiful Savior,” newer compositions like Frank Ticheli’s “There Will Be Stars,” and other selections including composers Pavel Chesnokov, Moses Hogan, Stephen Paulus, Joshua Shank, and Oak Grove’s own Aaron Zinter. The group will cover nearly 4,000 miles on its 10-day tour, visiting six states and giving 10 performances. Each concert will feature traditional and gospel selections.
