Three teenagers in critical condition after crash at US 60 and Gilbert Road

Fire and paramedic crew's from Mesa, Gilbert and Tempe responded to a first alarm medical on the US 60 eastbound at Gilbert Road on Thursday afternoon.

Three cars were involved in a chain collision accident in which one vehicle stalled on the side of the freeway stalled was struck struck in the rear by a van causing the multiple collisions.

According to the Mesa Fire Department, six patients were being treated, three of them were in critical condition (Level 1) and those three patients were transported to nearby hospitals.

The patients being transported are between the ages of 17 and 19 and were all in the vehicle sitting in the emergency lane before being struck.
