Fallen Royal Air Force and American pilots will receive recognition at a memorial service at Mesa Cemetery on Sunday morning.

Beginning at 10:45 a.m., the cemetery will recognize 24 British RAF and American fighter pilots who died during training exercises at Falcon Field Airport between 1941 and 1944. The service will include a fly-over by vintage World War II planes, a performance by a Scottish bagpipe band and a choir, and guest speakers.

The event is free and open to the public and will last one hour. Seating is limited, so the organizers recommend members of the public bring their own chairs.

Contact Mesa Cemetery at (480) 644-2335 for additional information.
