Several valley donor centers will be hosting blood drives from Feb.15 until March 31.
Arizona hospital patients require more blood transfusions Jan. through March than any other time of year. While donors of all blood types are needed, O-negative blood is always in the greatest demand.
Patients suffering from cancer, leukemia and heart disease, along with premature babies and trauma victims all receive lifesaving blood transfusions from donors.
The donor centers participating in the blood drives are Chandler Donor Center, located at 1989 W. Elliot Rd. Ste. 32 and Mesa Donor Center, located at 1337 S. Gilbert Rd. Ste. 101. The center’s hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
