Mesa residents will no longer get a hard copy of the city's parks and recreation magazine, TimeOut. Instead the magazine, beginning now with the summer edition, includes a list of recreation programs online at

The change is due to recent budget cuts. A print copy is on hand for review at the city office. The parks and recreation department is also urging residents to register for programs online.

Registration for aquatics programs begin April 17. Registration for all other programs begins April 24. Residents need an identification number to register; to get a number, call (480) 644-2352.

The parks and recreation department cut $8.2 million beginning in January through June 2010, which results in at least 900 fewer recreation programs.

For more information about the summer programs, call (480) 644-4345.
