A man is facing robbery and other related charges after assaulting two loss prevention officers who detained him after he tried to steal a knife inside a Sportsman's Warehouse on Monday.

Clint Contreras, 19, was arrested on suspicion of robbery about noon after police arrived at the store, 1750 S. Greenfield Road. The loss prevention officers told police they saw Contreras enter the store and tried to conceal a knife and leave without paying for it before they ordered him back into the store.

During questioning, Contreras told police, "If the knife he stole was not in a package, it would have ended differently." Contreras then stated he would have cut both of the loss prevention officers to get away.
