A Mesa banker has been named as an adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

James E. Christensen, president and CEO of Gateway Commercial Bank in Mesa, will serve on a new advisory council, giving input on economic and banking conditions, regulatory policies and payments issues.

Christensen is one of nine appointees to the 12th District Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, or CDIAC. The group will meet twice a year to advise the San Francisco Fed on various topics.
