Mesa will focus on the Emerson Manor neighborhood as part of its Building Strong Neighborhoods Initiative which seeks to provide education and resources to a new neighborhood each year.
The program will kick off with an orientation meeting at the Emerson Elementary School cafeteria on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. At the orientation, residents will talk about issues their neighborhood is facing; meet with several city departments; and learn about several non-profit organizations like United Food Bank, Wilkes University, Mesa Community College and West Mesa Community Development Corporation.
As part of the program, Clean Sweep dumpsters will be distributed to residents. They will also be invited to attend workshops on drug awareness and participate in alley clean ups and painting service projects.
Emerson Manor is located from Alma School Road to Westwood and from University Drive to Rio Salado Parkway.
