The City of Mesa will host Living Green events this month to educate residents on solar cooking and butterfly preservation.

The solar cooking demonstration will be on March 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mesa Urban Garden, which is located at 212 E. First Ave. People at the event will be able to watch Merry Bevill demonstrate techniques and show the different types of solar ovens.

Gail Morris from the Southwest Monarch Study will talk about creating butterfly gardens and the decreasing Monarch butterfly population on March 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mesa Library.
