Public comment will be sought on proposed hunting guidelines from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Arizona Game and Fish Department Mesa regional office, 7200 E. University Drive.

Guideline proposals being explored include: over-the-counter turkey tags for youth, increased standardization of hunt structures, and alternative management units for white-tailed deer.

The hunt guidelines, which will be brought before the Arizona Game and Fish Commission for approval at its Aug. 10-11 meeting in Flagstaff, will guide department wildlife managers for the next two years when crafting their specific unit-by-unit hunt recommendations.

People who want to keep abreast of this process or receive other information about Arizona Game and Fish Department activities can subscribe to the department’s free Hunting Highlights and Wildlife News e-newsletters.
