Every 25 seconds, someone in the United States has a coronary event, according to the American Heart Association. And every minute, one person dies from one. In Phoenix, heart disease and stroke account for nearly one of every three deaths.
You can help change those figures by joining the American Heart Association and more than 15,000 Valley residents for the 20th Annual Phoenix Heart Walk at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 25 at Tempe Beach Park.
Last year, the American Heart Association contributed over $3 million in funding to Arizona research facilities.
