The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued an ozone health watch for Wednesday. A health watch is called when ozone levels may approach federal health standards.
Ozone is a pollutant created when other pollutants in the air are heated by the sun. It can aggravate existing respiratory conditions and cause health problems for the young and the elderly.
Residents should limit time outdoors, especially in the late afternoons when ozone production is at its highest.
