Trader Joe’s – including its Arizona stores – has pulled its peanut butters because of a potential risk of salmonella, according to a release from the FDA.

The voluntary recalls includes Trader Joe’s Valencia Peanut Butters – including those with roasted flaxseeds, crunchy and salted and Trader Joe’s Almond butter, including those with roasted flaxseeds, crunchy and salted.

The recall was prompted after 29 people between June 11 and Sept. 2 became ill in 18 states, including Arizona.

For information on the nationwide recall of several brands of peanut butter recalled, see http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm320647.htm.

According to a separate press release, Trader Joe’s has already pulled the product from its shelves.

Customers with questions may contact Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
