Gilbert Police to host run for Special Olympics

A one-mile fun run and 5K run will be held Feb. 2 at Gilbert’s Hetchler Park, 4260 S. Greenfield Road, to benefit Special Olympics.

Online registration will continue through noon Thursday. Packet pick up will be held 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Gilbert Police Department, 75 E. Civic Center Drive.

Online registration can be found at active.com and search for the event.

Participants who have not registered online can sign up the day of the event. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. The first race will start at 9:15 a.m. For more information, contact the Gilbert Police Crime Prevention Unit

    I didn't know Gilbert PD did anything other than cite motorists for speeding. Are they even certified cops?
