Sheila Rogers, principal of Gilbert Elementary School for 20 years, has accepted the position of superintendent for the Douglas Unified School District.
Rogers has worked for the Gilbert Unified School District for 38 years, but is a native of Douglas.
Frank Blume, former principal of Burk Elementary School, has been appointed interim principal at Gilbert Elementary until the district can complete the hiring process for Rogers' replacement.
