Bryan May, the CEO and president of Coast to Coast Football, an East Valley-based youth football and cheerleading program serving more than 1,100 athletes annually ages 3 to 14 years old, has been named one of 10 national winners of Courtyard by Marriott’s “Inspire Greatness Program.”

The program aims to reward local coaches and youth sports contributors for inspiring young athletes toward success on and off the field.

May, of Gilbert, will receive $1,000 from Courtyard and USA Football to spend on new helmets, shoulder pads and other equipment to help improve player safety.

NFL legend and former Arizona Cardinals running back Emmitt Smith will honor May in person.

May’s efforts have helped Coast to Coast football, which plays all of its games at Discovery Park in Gilbert, grow from 125 participants in 2007 to more than 1,100 players.
