A Gilbert salon is hosting a back-to-school drive and fundraiser to provide at-risk children with school supplies and haircuts.

Simply Ravishing Salon in Gilbert is hosting a back-to-school supply drive for students of Gilbert Unified School District. Salon owner Tara Cote is teaming up with Christine Davis of Backstage Salon and Spa in Tempe to help raise money and school supplies throughout the month of July. Along with supplies donated, students receiving the supplies will be given a “swag bag” that includes a certificate for a free hair cut.

From noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, the Gilbert salon is hosting a Game Truck with video games and treats for kids, and discounted salon and spa services for parents.

There will be a school supply donation box set up inside the salon throughout the month of July, and Cote is asking for donations of any supplies, gift certificates or products that will help children in need succeed in the classroom.

Simply Ravishing Salon is located at 2401 E. Baseline road in Gilbert. For more information “like” Simply Ravishing Salon on Facebook or join the circle on Google+ for constant updates regarding the drive.
