A Gilbert father faces a misdemeanor charge after police say he let his 12-year-old son drive a street-legal ATV, which rolled over and injured the boy and two passengers.
Sgt. Bill Balafas says the boy was knocked unconscious Friday afternoon and was taken to a hospital.
Authorities say the passengers, who were neighbors, were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police say they charged the father for allowing his son to drive the vehicle a quarter-mile from their home.
The father faces a misdemeanor count of allowing an unauthorized minor to drive a vehicle.
