Acting with approval of the Maricopa County Board of Library Directors, the Maricopa County Library District has decided to install security guards at both of its Gilbert-area libraries.
Southeast Regional Library’s security service will be reinstated beginning Tuesday. Security service starts at Perry on Thursday.
The cost of security will be paid for within the existing budget.
During the recently concluded fiscal year, the Southeast Regional Library welcomed nearly 731,000 customers, which is about 21 percent of the total number of visitors to the county’s 17-library system.
