A local couple was arrested in connection with a string of robberies that encompassed three East Valley municipalities.
According to a press release, 30-year-old Luke Broeker and 27-year-old Shannon Broeker were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly committing 10 robberies in Gilbert, Mesa and Chandler. The series began in August and included businesses like Walgreens, Fry’s, 7-Eleven and Goodwill.
The Gilbert Police Department Violent Crimes Unit and Criminal Apprehension Team tracked the couple to a hotel in Mesa, and the investigation revealed Shannon Broeker was present for several of the robberies. Also present for the incidents were the couple’s four children — ranging in age from 1 to 6 — who were inside the getaway vehicle during the alleged robberies. The children were not hurt during the course of the events
Luke and Shannon Broeker face multiple counts of robbery along with charges stemming from involvement in violent felonies while having their children with them at the time.
