On Aug. 6, sworn and civilian members of the Gilbert Fire Department will team up with 65 children from Gilbert Unified School District for back-to-school shopping. Each child will receive a $100 gift card for clothes and shoes from the Gilbert Kohl's, 1121 E. Baseline Road. The fire department is also hosting its annual back-to-school supply drive through July 28.
All types of items, from backpacks, three-ring binders and notebooks to pencils and pens, colored markers, scissors and glue are needed.
Drop-off locations are all Town of Gilbert buildings, Southeast Regional Library and Gilbert fire stations, as well as Gilbert Chick-fil-A's and Walgreen's.
