A tradition since 2002, Gilbert Constitution Week returns to the town this week with an array of activities to promote the principles of the U.S. Constitution. Events will include a Scout clinic, student art and essay contests, adult fine arts competition, and seminars on the "Making of America."
A concert and art exhibit 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts, 4132 E. Pecos Road, will focus on the founding fathers and the events that shaped our nation. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
Then on Saturday, the Constitution Fair comes to Gilbert Town Hall featuring American Idol star David Archuleta, food, fun, community booths, informative displays, and other music acts from the Gilbert area, including Fortress, Firefly, and the Jones Brothers.

We should have classes in high school about respecting and understanding the US Constitution. Instead we have La Raza (the race) studies that teach how White Europeans stole the Chicano's land from them, and teach children that our founding fathers were racist slave owners. Who's country is this?
