The 12K's of Christmas is coming to Gilbert's Freestone Park on Dec. 10,  and organizers need your help. This unique holiday event includes Santa's Pet Village featuring over 40 rescue groups with animals up for adoption, a Christmas Bazaar, and a 12K, 6K and 1.2K run/walk with Christmas carolers at every kilometer.

The pet village will have dogs, cats, rabbits and horses who all have "a home" at the top of their wish list. A portion of proceeds from run/walk will support Maricopa County Animal Care & Control and Phoenix Animal Care Coalition.

Volunteers are needed in two- to four-hour shifts between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a variety of activities, including event setup, registration and packet pickup, food/water distribution, course monitors, cleanup and more. Volunteers will receive a Santa's Helper t-shirt and Santa hat, snacks and beverages.

If you are interested in helping out, or if you would like to hear more, call (480) 609-3978 or visit www.12kchristmas.com.
