Lanae Carmichael, 18, of Gilbert, a graduate of Mesquite High School, will compete in the 50th annual America’s Junior Miss National Finals June 28-30 in Mobile, Ala. Carmichael is Arizona’s representative.
She will join a contestant from every state to compete in a share of $150,000 in college scholarships and the title of America’s Junior Miss 2007. Carmichael plans to attend Brigham Young University in the fall and is thinking about going into music therapy.
America’s Junior Miss is the nation’s oldest and largest scholarship program for college-bound high school seniors. The program, headquartered in Mobile, began in 1958.
