Gilbert residents Dwight Smart and Greg Jensen were named 2012 Hon Kachina Volunteer Awards honorees and recognized for their volunteer efforts in the community earlier late last month at the 36th annual Hon Kachina Volunteer Awards.
According to a release, Jensen and Smart, both carpenters, volunteer to design and create imaginative bedrooms for chronically ill children.
“Using the child's imagination and unique interests, Jensen and Smart conceal medical equipment by creating wall murals, custom furniture and creative accessories to change bedrooms into fantasy lands,” the release states.
