Students and teachers of the biomedical science program at Gilbert’s Campo Verde High School have been invited to present at the Project Lead The Way Innovation Summit in Washington, D.C., in October.

Campo Verde was invited as recognition for its outstanding work in developing a biomedical program and for inspiring students, according to a news release.

Campo Verde was one of eight programs chosen out of 320 biomedical science programs that participate in Project Lead the Way. Their selection has earned four Gilbert students — who will be selected after school starts this month — an all-expense paid trip to the summit.

While there, they will showcase their work for educators and members of Congress, participate in a conference, and compete in a problem-solving contest.
