Riggs Elementary students took their classroom lessons to help children around the world. The kids volunteered their time at “Feed My Starving Children.” They prepared and packed 19 boxes of food which is more than 4000 meals for malnourished children. The meals will be shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world.

On Friday August 17th, the students finished their school day and headed to the Tempe packing center of Feed My Starving Children. This is the first service project sponsored by the Riggs Elementary PTO. Each month students will have an opportunity to volunteer their time for a different charity. The goal is for the children to learn outside the classroom and serve others in need.

Riggs Elementary School is part of the Chandler Unified School District. More than 1000 students in Pre-school thru 6th grade attend the school.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization which relies on volunteers to hand pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.
