Students at Gilbert's Carol Rae Elementary School honored Arizona's birthday last week by creating a 702-piece paper "quilt." On the paper squares the students put images of Arizona's desert, animals and more. The squares at the center created the Arizona flag. Cake was served to the entire campus to mark the state's 100th year.
