Mayor Hugh Hallman, headmaster at Tempe Preparatory Academies and chairman of the Maricopa Association of Governments, was named "Leader of the Year" during the 2011 Arizona Charter Schools Conference. The academy was rated as one of the top schools in the world by the George W. Bush Presidential Center's "Global Report Card."
