Well, if intelligence is the ability to adapt to change, I must be a real brainiac! As a military brat, I attended 4 elementary schools, two jr. highs, and two high schools, because my family moved so often!

I can't remember most of my teachers, or classmates--they are mostly a blur of memory, with only the scenes of certain experiences. I don't have any misty thoughts, while driving by an institution.

I have only the memory that I endured it all...
Yes, mostly the kids will be all right. But it won't be through intelligence. It will be through love and a helping hand to guide them.

"Change, when managed, is opportunity." It is a primary role of parents to look further down the path and prepare their child for the road ahead. We have experienced different types of school moves in our family - a move from a different state to Arizona and also, for some of my children, a move to a different public school than our neighborhood school. Preparing the child for the path actually empowers the child with important life skills compared to the alternative of preparing the path for the child. Before teaching our children perspective we must seek it first ourselves. Then we can lead by example.
