The Gilbert Unified School District governing board approved a salary schedule for teachers last week that maintains their current pay.

The board voted 5-0 to keep salaries the same for the 2012-2013 school year as they are this year, including the .5 percent increase that was added to teachers’ salaries when funds were available last fall.

Governing board member Helen Hollands said she hopes if the district receives more funds than it anticipates that additional funds can be given to compensate teachers. The governor and Legislature are still working out the budget for next fiscal year, which starts July 1.
