There's Desert Ridge High, Gilbert High, Highland High, Mesquite High, and now, Campo Verde High.

That was the name chosen Tuesday for Gilbert Unified School District's fifth and final high school.

The school is under construction at 1300 E. Germann Road in Gilbert and is scheduled to open in the fall.

The Gilbert school board mulled over a list of about 12 names suggested by the community and board members.

They ultimately chose the name suggested by board member Elaine Morrison because it was appropriate for the area, said district spokeswoman Dianne Bowers.

"They wanted a unique name for a really unique high school," Bowers said.
