Chandler teacher Holly Kain has been awarded the 14th annual Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Ladies Auxiliary National Citizenship Education Teacher Award. Kain, an advanced English teacher at Hamilton High School, won the award from VFW Post No. 80543 and was given the award by Commander Gene Nelson. Kain will now compete against other teachers in the state and could advance to the national competition.
"Kain was nominated by her fellow teachers and supervisors for her work with the VFW’s Voice of Democracy (VOD) Program," according to a release.
