Eight Arizona high school students were honored last month for earning a top composite score on the ACT college admissions exam.
Sen. Rich Crandall, R-Mesa, chairman of the Senate Education Committee, recognized the students during an Arizona Diamondbacks game.
The East Valley students were: Joshua Quenneville and Gage Taylor of Chandler Preparatory Academy and Brandon Vernon of Mesa's Red Mountain High School.
The ACT consists of tests in English, math, reading, and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36. A student's composite score is the average of the four scores.
