Mesa’s Legacy Elementary School collected more pounds of pop tabs per student than any school in the state in the annual collection to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House of Phoenix.
The Ronald McDonald House will recycle the tabs for dollars. It was the second year of the competition between the schools and more than 3,353 pounds of pop tops were collected.
The funds will provide 120 free room nights for families across the state and the world.
Ronald McDonald Houses are a place for families to stay while children undergo medical care.
