Regents choose new UA president

The Arizona Board of Regents has named a University of Arizona president. The regents named Ann Weaver Hart Friday the 21st president of the Tucson school.

Hart replaces Eugene G. Sander and will begin her term on July 1.

Hart currently is president of Temple University in Philadelphia and has served as president of the University of New Hampshire and provost and vice president for academic affairs at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, Calif.

Her prior appointments also include professor of educational leadership, dean of the Graduate School and special assistant to the president at the University of Utah.
