The Arizona Board of Regents approved revised residence hall and meal plan rates for the university system for the 2011-12 academic year at its April board meeting last week. Regents rejected the original proposals submitted by Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and The University of Arizona, deeming the increases too high, and asked for revised proposals.

For undergraduate student housing, ASU reduced its rate increases for its downtown Phoenix, east Mesa's Polytechnic and Glendale's West campuses from as much as 7 percent to 3.5 percent.

With the increase, ASU students will pay between $170-$254 more for student housing and $68-$122 more for the required meal plan.
