Mesa Community College will be without power from 10 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday morning in order to repair an electric power cable that failed, an SRP spokeswoman said.
Patty Garcia-Likens said the area around MCC’s main campus in west Mesa experienced a power outage on Thursday afternoon, also briefly knocking out power to a number of residential customers in the area. The power to the residential customers has been restored, Garcia-Likens said.
In order to repair the cable, the power lines at the college will have to be de-energized while the repairs are being made and done at a time to limit the number of students and staff at the college who will be affected, Garcis-Likens said.
