Poll: Americans think public education stinks, but their own kid's school is great

  I'm curious of the participants of the polls. Parents probably rate their child's school high because they had more options than before to choose the right school for their child. GreatSchools.org and other websites allow parents to rate schools and "shop" for the perfect school. Parents are no limited to where they live as much anymore. Boundary exceptions and charters allow flexibility.

  This is just like the polls they do on Congress: Congress stinks, but my Congressman is fine.
