An ongoing survey shows Mesa parents, teachers and the community are slightly favoring a calendar beginning with the 2013-14 school year that would include two-week fall, winter and spring breaks.

The results are from public input made online as of March 23.

The Mesa Unified School District is looking at four options for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years: a) looks like this year with the start of school in early August, plus one-week fall and spring breaks; b) puts fall break at just two days, with a mid-August start; c) a modified year-round schedule, with a start in late July and two-week fall, winter and spring breaks; and d) starts school after Labor Day.

The public can still comment online at mpsaz.org. Public hearings will be held April 10 and April 24, with a possible vote at the latter meeting.
